REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 23, 2006
The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar Camp Town Board will be held on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sugar Camp Town Hall.

1. Meeting called to order by the Town Chairman.
Present: Chairman Scott Holewinski
Supervisor Paul Sowinski There were 2 visitors

2. Verification of Agenda posting and approval of Agenda. Discussion & action
The agenda was posted at the Town Hall, Sugar Camp Enterprises, Lilly Bass Road and Hwy H. by 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21.
Motion: Sowinski / Holewinski … to approve the agenda. Carried
3. Approval of the minutes from the last regular monthly meeting and any special meetings not
previously approved. Discussion & action
Motion: Holewinski / Sowinski … to accept the Regular Meeting Minutes of December 19, 2005. Carried
4. Treasurer’s Report. Discussion & action
Motion: Sowinski / Holewinski … to approve the Treasurer’s report with an December 1st checking and CD account balance of $ 213,194.19. Carried
5. Approval of vouchers. Discussion & action
Motion: Sowinski / Holewinski … to approve the vouchers of $ 151,137.15 as presented. Carried
6. Public Comments: None
7. Old Business:
A. Review status of Delinquent Personal Property Tax Collections. Discussion only.
The Treasurer reported that the Town filed two claims in Small Claims Court and the first hearing date is set for January 25, 2006.
B. The Board will consider a request from Al Goodrich to lower the speed limit on County
Highway H to 35 mph, from just South of Fallen Leaf Road to North of Kathan Inn. Discussion and possible action
The Board took no action on this request.
8. New Business:
A. Clerks Items
UDC presentation by the Rhinelander Fire Department, what services they can offer and how their program differs from the current UDC inspector. Discussion only.
Terry Williams gave a brief presentation on how the Rhinelander Fire Department does their UDC inspection. He then answered questions from the Board. No action was taken. Darin Pagal from Northwinds Inspections will be invited to give a presentation at the February meeting.
Motion to approve a bid for a new truck chassis. Discussion and possible action.
Note: earlier approval was given by polling the board members on December 30th which was the cut off date for acceptance by the company. The motion at this time makes the previous action of the Board a matter of public record.
Motion: Holewinski / Sowinski … to accept the bid of $79,801.86 for a new truck chassis. Carried

Motion: Sowinski / Holewinski … to approve Mike and Larry’s request to attend at a highway safety course at a cost of $45.00 each. Carried

The Board will ask Otto to get quotes to construct a new drain field for the Town as the current one is failing.
