REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 11 , 2008

The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar Camp Town Board was held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sugar Camp Town Hall.

1. Meeting called to order by the Town Chairman.
Present:

Chairman Scott Holewinski
Supervisor Otto Schoeneck
Supervisor Paul Sowinski
Clerk John Bigley
Treasurer Lisa Jolin
Foreman Kortenhof

2. Verification of Agenda posting and approval of Agenda. Discussion & action
The agenda was posted at the Town Hall, Sugar Camp Enterprises, Lilly Bass Road and Hwy H. by 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008.
Motion: Schoeneck/ Sowinski… to approve the agenda. Carried

3. Approval of the minutes from the last regular monthly meeting and any special meetings not previously approved.
Motion: Schoeneck / Sowinski … to accept the Regular Meeting Minutes of January 16 , 2008, with changes.. Carried

4. Treasurer’s Report. Discussion & action
Motion: Schoenek/Sowinski… to approve the Treasurer’s report with a January 31, 2008 checking and CD account balance of $2,008,826.73. Carried

5. Approval of vouchers. Discussion & action
Motion: Schoeneck / Sowinski … to approve the vouchers of $104,172.91 as presented. Carried

6. Public Comments: None

7. Correspondences: WTA Meeting on February 21, in the Town of Schoepke. John & Scott will be attending.

8. Old Business: Review Guidelines as they apply to the use of the State’s Recycling Grant Funds.

Town clerk will oversee the grant and make arrangements with Bart Sexton to set up another tire recycling program and continue sponsorship of the Sugar Camp School recycling project.

9. New Business:

  1. Review Guidelines and Policies for allowing snowmobiles to use Town Roads.

    The Town Clerk will review the approved trails and access routes and update the file.
  2. Consider a Resolution authorizing the Town to participate in the MABAS System for the Fire Department.

Ken Kortenhof, Oneida County Emergency Response Director, presented a resolution for the board to consider involving the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System or MABAS. This is a county wide system of mutual aid. There is no charge from townships helping the Town of Sugar Camp and the Town of Sugar Camp would not charge townships that we assist in case our assistance is requested.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski … to pass Resolution No. 2008-1 that the Town of Sugar Camp approves participation in the Mutual Aid Box Alarm system. Carried

  1. Consider a 40 lot Land Condominium request from Scott Holewinski to be developed at the end of Blackberry Rd.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski …that the Town of Sugar Camp has no objections to the 40 Lot Land Condominium plat as presented from Scott Holewinski providing that the road is brought up to town specification of the Town Subdivision Ordinance. Road to be graded in 2008 and blacktopped in 2009. Carried Note: Holewinski abstained

  1. Consider a request from the Clerk to hire two additional poll workers for the November Presidential Election. Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski …to approve the hiring of two additional poll workers for the November Presidential Election. Carried
  2. Road Work Report – No report given tonight.
  3. Town Hall Report – No report given tonight.

Motion to adjourn
Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski …to adjourn at 8:50 p.m. Carried.
