REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
September 23, 2008

The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar Camp Town Board was held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sugar Camp Town Hall.

1. Meeting called to order by the Town Chairman.
Present:

Chairman Scott Holewinski
Supervisor Otto Schoeneck
Supervisor Paul Sowinski 
Treasurer Lisa Jolin 
Clerk John Bigley
Foreman Kortenhof 
There were 4 visitors

2. Verification of Agenda posting and approval of Agenda.
The agenda was posted at the Town Hall, Sugar Camp Enterprises, Lilly Bass Road and Hwy H. by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19th by 12:00 noon.

Motion: Sowinski/Schoeneck … to approve the agenda. Carried

3. Approval of the minutes from the last regular monthly meeting and any special meetings not previously approved. 

Motion: Holewinski/Schoeneck… to accept the Regular Meeting Minutes of August 18th. Carried

4. Treasurer’s Report.

Motion: Sowinski/Schoeneck … to approve the Treasurer’s report with an September 1, 2008 checking and CD account balance of $ 420,675.89. Carried

5. Approval of vouchers. Discussion & action

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski … to approve the vouchers of $ 49,814.66 as presented. Carried

6. Public Comments: None

7. Correspondences: There will be a Public Hearing regarding the proposed dry hydrant ordinance at the Oneida County Law Enforcement Center-Community Room.

9. New Business:

1. Consider an Administrative Review Permit from Eagle River Landing, LLC to establish a year-round short-term cottage rental in an existing home for property described as Lot 4 of Certified Survey map Volume 1 page 184, further described as part NENW, Section 14, T39N, R9E, Pin# SU 700-3D. Address 4205 Red Pine Dr., Eagle River.

Motion: Sowinski/Schoeneck... that the Town Board has no objections to establishing a year-round short-term cottage rental at 4205 Red Pine Dr., Eagle River. Carried

2. Consider a claim against the town for damage to a boat on Stone Lake

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski.. to deny a claim from Jim Murphy for damages done to his rental boat when he hit a rock on Stone Lake. Carried

3. Approve expenses related to the tire collection held on September 6, 2008. All expenses will be reimbursed by grant money designated for recycling activities in Oneida County.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinskito approve expenses of $1,302.20 for tire collecting on September 6, 2008, as submitted by the county. Carried

4. Set Date for Budget Planning

The Board will meet on Oct. 28 at 6:00 p.m. to plan the town's budget for 2009.

5. Set Date for Budget Hearing.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinskito set the Annual Budget Hearing for November 17 at 7:00 p.m. The regular Town Board Meeting will be held on the 17th also and will start at 6:00 p.m. Carried

6. Road Work Report

The Board reviewed the report, no action taken. A copy of the report is attached to the minutes.

7. Town Hall Report

The Board reviewed the report, no action taken. A copy of the report is attached to the minutes.

10. Motion to adjourn.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski … at 8:40 p.m. Carried
