REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES
March 13, 2009

The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar Camp Town Board was held on Monday, March 13, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sugar Camp Town Hall.

1.  Meeting called to order by the Town Chairman.

Present:

Chairman Scott Holewinski 
Supervisor Paul Sowinski 
Supervisor Otto Schoeneck 
There were 6 visitors

2. Verification of Agenda posting and approval of Agenda.
The agenda was posted at the Town Hall, Sugar Camp Enterprises, Lilly Bass Road and Hwy H. by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski … to approve the agenda. Carried

3. Approval of the minutes from the last regular monthly meeting and any special meetings not previously approved. 

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski… to accept the Regular Meeting Minutes of February 16, 2009. Carried

4. Treasurer’s Report.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski… to approve January and February reports with a February balance of $1,572,856.04 as presented. Carried

5. Approval of vouchers.

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski… to approve the vouchers of $26,498.81 as presented. Carried

6. Public Comments: None

7. Correspondences: 

The Town of Sugar Camp received projected shared revenue for 2010 showing a 13.07% reduction in state aids.

8. Old Business: 

  1. Implementation of the Coordination Resolution by Jay Verhulst.
    Mr. Verhulst gave a brief presentation to the Board reviewing the materials in the Coordination Workbook. He answered a number of questions from the Board. A special meeting was scheduled for March 30 at 6:30 p.m. to follow up on Coordination implementation.
  1. Cemetery: Consider charging an "Opening Fee" for burials and changing the charge for the purchase of lots.
    Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski...to make the following changes in cemetery fees. For tax payers there will be no change. For non-taxpayers, lots will now be $550.00, there will not be a fee to lay out a lot in the winter.  Carried.
  2. Reconsider the formation of the citizen committee which was passed at the February 16th, 2009, Town Board Meeting.
    No action taken at this time.

9. New Business:  

  1. Open 2009 Road Bids
Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski …to close acceptance of bids. One bid was received. Carried
Motion:
Schoeneck/Sowinski …to accept the bid from Pitlik and Wick for the following work to be done:

Jennie Webber Lake Rd $ 88,523.25

Dam Lake Rd. $154,183.00

Carried.
  1. Annual Meeting to be held April 14 at 7:00 p.m., discussion of additional activities to follow the Annual Meeting.

    Medic 11 will be doing Blood Pressure Testing, Fire Department will have an open house along with the Town Shop.

  2.  Road Work Report

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski … to accept the report as written, no action taken. A copy of the report is attached to the minutes.

10. Motion to adjourn

Motion: Schoeneck/Sowinski …to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. Carried
