Town Meetings
Unless otherwise noted all meetings are at the Sugar Camp Town Hall


The Town of Sugar Camp Board will hold its Board of Review on Monday August 19, 2013 from 6-8pm

The Town board approved a proposal from Pitlik and Wick, Inc. for repairs on Arbutus Drive for a total price of $8,326.00, on a motion made by Sowinski and seconded by Holewinski

The Town board awarded a contract to Pitlik and Wick, Inc. for gravel on Fire Lane not to exceed $9000.00 on a motion made by Sowinski and seconded by Rhode.



The Sugar Camp Disc Golf Course
is open year round. The course is located at the Sugar Camp Town Hall.

The regular monthly meeting of the Sugar Camp Town Board was held on Monday May 20, 201

        Meeting called to order by Town Chairman at 7:30 p.m.
        Present:

There were 34 visitors
  1. Approve the Agenda
    Motion: Rhode/Sowinski … to approve the agenda as posted.  Carried

  2. Approval of the minutes from the regular monthly meeting held April 16, 2013 and the special meeting held April 23,2013
    Motion: Sowinski /Rhode… to accept the minutes.  Carried

  3. Treasurer’s report.  April financial report
    Motion: Sowinski/Holewinski…to approve the April report with a cash balance of $462,164.73 Carried

  4. Approval of vouchers.
    Motion: Holewinski/Sowinski… to approve the vouchers of $25,086.96 as presented.
    Carried.

  5. Public Comments:
    Steve Newcomb on the condition of Arbutus Drive
    Dawn Novack is in favor of ATV trails
    Paul Novack is in favor of ATV trails
    Brian Widule stated approval of ATV trails would be good for business
    Dennis Nitzel stated trail system would be good for business
    Kevin Olson stated there was a meat raffle at Rummys that profited $1000 for ATV signs

  7. Old Business:
    1. Town phones and radios:
      Mike will have a phone and a second phone to be used by employees if needed.

    2. Summer help:
      No summer help had responded yet to ads

  8. New Business:
    1. Long term plan for capital outlay:
      Jason Goeldner gave a report on Fire Dept. equipment
      Mike gave a report on town equipment
      Town board will take home and prioritize

    2. Road work specs for Blackberry Lane
      Motion: Rhode/Sowinski… to accept specs and advertise for bids as presented… Carried.
                                         
    3. Specs for Fire shed roof:
      Motion: Rhode/Sowinski…to replace Fire shed roof next year and put siding on the Town Hall this year.  Carried.
          
                                 
    4. ATV routes on town roads:
      Motion: Rhode/Holewinski...  to move forward on UTV and ATV use on town roads. Carried.
      Further discussion: to follow State Statutes regarding ATV usage. 
                                               
    5. Trees at Cemetery:  John Bigley was asked what Deana had wanted for trees at the cemetery, reply was shade trees or flowering crabs, possibly one on each side of the bench. Rhode will get prices for trees.

    6. Fire Number issues: Mike will switch back signs that are turned sideways

    7. Kitchen countertops: Mike will check with the state on qualifications for replacing the Island countertop. Rhode to work with Mike on project.

    8. Gravel purchase for Fire Lane maintenance:
      Motion: Sowinski/Rhode… to approve the cost of gravel up to $9000.00, taken out of the Maintenance budget. Carried.

    9. Repair dip on Arbutus Drive:
      Motion: Sowinski/Rhode…to make repairs per proposal dated 5/17/2013, to be taken out of the maintenance budget. Carried.

  9. Road work/Town Hall report:

    Comment by Mike to take the $1,500.00 that was put away for a new lawn mower and purchase a trailer for the current lawnmower.
    Motion: Holewinski/Sowinski …to buy a trailer. Carried

  10. Adjourn Board of Review to a future date
    Motion: Holewinski/Sowinski…to reschedule the Board of Review to August 19,2013 6-8p.m.
    Carried.
